NEW ORLEANS -- McMoRan has deepened the Davy Jones discovery well from 28,263 ft to 28,603 ft and has logged a new hydrocarbon bearing sand totaling 65 net ft (20 m). An additional log is required to confirm the porosity of this new sand.
The new sand interval combined with the 135 ft (41 m) of net pay announced on Jan. 11, brings the well’s total possible productive net sands to 200 ft (61 m). Flow testing is planned to confirm hydrocarbon flow rates.
