LONDON - - ADX Energy is persevering with its Lambouka exploration well offshore Tunisia, despite an initial disappointment.
According to partner Gulfsands Petroleum, the Lambouka - 1 well intersected the complete Ain Grab section, a secondary target, encountering the prognosed porous reservoir sandstone. But interpretation of MWD logs suggest the formation is water bearing.
The current 12¼-in. hole section has been drilled to a depth of 2,216 m (7,270 ft) and preparations are under way to set and cement the 9 5/8-in. casing prior to drilling an 8½-in. hole into the main target, the Abiod carbonate formation.
Gulfsands is acquiring a 30% participating interest in the surrounding Kerkouane license and Pantelleria permit.
