LONDON -- The Liz 14/19-1 well in the North Falkland basin has reached a depth of 3,570 m (11,713 ft). Logging is currently under way, says Desire Petroleum.
The well encountered its primary target at 2,550 m (8,366 ft) with indications of hydrocarbons. Subsequent logging indicated oil in thin intervals with poor reservoir quality.
Liz 14/19-1 also encountered deeper gas shows below 3,400 m (11,155 ft), which the company will evaluate with wireline logging and sampling.
