LONDON -- Transocean has extended its drilling contract offshore southeast Nigeria with the Afren/Oriental Energy/Amni International partnership.
Under the new arrangement, two Transocean jackups will work on various programs on the OML 115 shallow water license.
The GSF High Island has been secured for a period of up to 210 days, at a rate of $84,000/d. It is due to mobilize from its current location offshore Cameroon on March 24.
On arrival, it will go straight to work on the partnership’s Ebok/Okwok development and on the producing Okoro field in the same region. The Transocean Adriaticis already in service on Ebok under the Phase 1 development plan.
The full program for the two rigs comprises one exploration well to test the Ebok Dep intervals; one appraisal well to define the size and extent of Okwok and its development needs; an exploration well to test prospectivity on surrounding acreage in the license; six development wells for the Phase 2 Ebok West Fault Block project; and two infill wells at Okoro.
