Dragon completes further Caspian development wells

Dragon Oil has completed testing of two development wells in its Cheleken Contract Area fields in the Caspian Sea Turkmen sector.

ASHKABAT, Turkmenistan -- Dragon Oil has completed testing of two development wells in its Cheleken Contract Area fields in the Caspian Sea Turkmen sector.
The Dzheitune (Lam) A/142 well was drilled to a sub-surface depth of 3,961 m by the Iran Khazar rig, with the short string testing 1,180 b/d of oil and the long string 923 b/d.
Dzheitune (Lam) 13/143 was drilled to a depth of 3,450 m by Rig 40. In this case, the short and long strings tested respectively 1,144 b/d and 1,024 b/d. Further testing and optimization should take place over the coming weeks.
The Iran Khazar rig has been re-positioned to enhance production from another well on the same platform via a workover. Rig 40 has skidded to slot 1 on the Dzheitune (Lam) 13 platform and will shortly start drilling the Dzheitune (Lam) 13/144 well.
