Drilling underway on Lukah-1X well off Indonesia

Singapore Petroleum Co. Ltd. together with its partners has begun drilling the Lukah-1X exploration well in the Kakap Production Sharing Contract offshore Indonesia.

(Indonesia) - Singapore Petroleum Co. Ltd. together with its partners has begun drilling the Lukah-1X exploration well in the Kakap Production Sharing Contract offshore Indonesia.

It will take about 30 days to hit a planned depth of 2,243 m subsea and various formations within a three-way dip closure against the north-south trending fault.

Lukah-1X is located in the southern block of the Kakap PSC and approximately 2.4 km southeast of the oil producing KG field, said SPC.

The Kakap PSC covers 2,000 sq km in the West Natuna Sea of Indonesia and is 1,247 km northwest of Jakarta.
