CALGARY, Canada -- A new oil discovery in block 20/5a of the UK Outer Moray Firth encountered two Jurassic sandstone reservoirs which tested at a combined 11,000 b/d of oil.

The well, drilled by Talisman Energy (UK) Ltd., is 3 km north of Buchan field and 12 km soutwest of Tweedsmuir South field, and was drilled from theOcean Nomad.

Talisman has a 94.43% equity interest with First Oil Expro Ltd. holding the remaining 5.57%.
