PA Resources begins production offshore Tunisia

STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- PA Resources AB has completed and started up the new platform on the Didon field offshore Tunisia.
Didon is producing 8,500 b/d of oil from the new Didon-5 platform well. Current production is limited by the export system, but a gradual buildup of production will reach the target of 20,000 b/d, the company says.
Drilling is under way on another production well, Didon-6. The well has reached a measured depth of 2,000 m (6,562 ft) of an expected TD of 5,000 m (16,404 ft), including the horizontal section, the company says. PA Resources plans to drill a pilot hole when the target depth has been reached to collect geological and reservoir data before the horizontal section of the well is drilled.
When Didon-6 is complete, the company will drill the Elyssa sidetrack well.
"We are very pleased with the startup of the Didon platform and the achievement of first oil from the Didon-5," says Ulrik Jansson, president and CEO of PA Resources. "The platform and the Didon-5 well will significantly increase the total production on the Didon field. "
PA Resources operates the Didon field with 100% working interest.
