The third development well in East Orovinyare offshore Gabon successfully tested for oil, says First Africa Oil.

Drilled by GlobalSantaFe's Adriatic VI jackup in 65 ft of water, the well reached the Batanga reservoir at 3,832 ft and logging indicated an oil reservoir section of 280 ft.
Drill stem testing flowed at a rate of 2,099 b/d oil.

Development plans call for production early 2007 from four wells through one unmanned platform tied to an FPSO.
