Offshore staff

GRIMSTAD, Norway -- Exploration and Production Co. has awarded Drilling ASA a letter of intent to use the semisubmersible rig West E-drill.

The three-year contract is valued at $881 million and may be extended for five more years.

The rig is under construction at Samsung in South Korea and is scheduled for delivery 4Q07.
