COURBEVOIE, France -- A new gas discovery was made by Total in the offshore Mahakam block of Indonesia.
In shallow water 8 km southwest of Tunu field, the Tunu Great South-1 well encountered several gas reservoirs which are being tested. Additional wells are expected to appraise the find.
The reservoir is thought to be an extension of the southern zone of Tunu field.
Total operates the block with 50% interest. Inpex holds the other half.
