Dragon Oil secures rig for next planned phase of LAM development in Turkmen sector of the Caspian

(Hazar, Turkmenistan) Dragon Oil will employ theCIS-1 platform drilling rig for the next phase of operations in the Cheleken Area, offshore Turkmenistan. The rig, owned by Continental Industry Supply, will drill up to four development wells from the LAM 22 platform in the LAM field.
Ahead of mobilization, the platform will be upgraded, with extra drilling slots installed. Dragon opted for a new development phase following positive production results from wells drilled in 2001-02, and a successful recent workover of well LAM 86/, located downdip of these wells. The rig should start its two-year contract during the first half of 2007.
