Statoil testing Barents Sea prospect

Statoil has started drilling a new exploration target in the Barents Sea called Uranus

(Norway) The semisubmersibleEirik Raude has begun drilling an exploratory well on Statoil's Uranus prospect in the Norwegian Barents Sea. Drilling is expected to take around 70 days, to a total depth of around 4,000 m.

Uranus is located 120-km offshore in block 7227/11, in production license 202. On completion, the semi will move to the Norwegian Sea to drill the Edvarda prospect for Statoil.
