Cetco is supplying a second Crudesep produced water treatment package to Talisman to limit oil in water content from the Buchan field

(Aberdeen) Cetco Oilfield Services has sold its second Crudesep produced water treatment package to Talisman Energy (UK) for use on the Buchan Alpha semisubmersible platform. The £400,000-plus system will treat around 12,000 b/d of produced water, the aim being to keep oil in water content to below 30 ppm, in line with new Ospar guidelines.
The 48-in, vertical column pressure vessel will run in conjunction with the platform's existing Crudesep unit. Under Cetco's technique, gravity oil separation is enhanced through induced gas flotation cyclic motions that create centrifugal forces to separate fluids of dissimilar specific gravity.
