Gnu-1 off Western Australia finds more gas

The Gnu-1 delineation well at Reindeer/Caribou field in WA-209P offshore Western Australia has tested at 26.3 MMcf/d of gas and 61 b/d of condensate from the North Rankin formation.

ADELAIDE, Australia -- The Gnu-1 delineation well at Reindeer/Caribou field in WA-209P offshore Western Australia has tested at 26.3 MMcf/d of gas and 61 b/d of condensate from the North Rankin formation.

Apache Corp., operator, says the well logged 378 feet of net pay in Legendre formation, 78 feet more of new pay than was found in other field wells. An earlier Legendre well was tested 35 MMcf/d of gas and 165 b/d of condensate.

The North Rankin formation was tested on a 1.25 in. choke with 954 psi flowing wellhead pressure. Perforations were at 11,259 - 11,287 ft measured depth.

The interests in WA 209P are Apache Northwest Pty. Ltd. (operator), 55%; and Santos Offshore Pty. Ltd., 45%.
