The Atwood Hunter has spudded Flamant-1 offshore Mauritania in block 8. In 1,400 m of water, the well is targeting a Cretaceous Carbonate reef prospect in an area of different geology from the rest of the offshore Mauritania basin.

Dana Petroleum is operator with 41.5%. Hardeman Resources Ltd. has 18%, ROC Oil Co. has 2%, Wintershall, 25%, and Gas de France 13.5%.
