Anadarko acquisition of KMG cleared by US authorities

US, GoM -- Anadarko has US antitrust clearance for its proposed acquisition of Kerr-McGee. The statutory waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act expired without issuance of a second request by the US Federal Trade Commission.
Anadarko says it expects to close the $23.3 billion (includes debt) transaction as soon as practicable following Kerr-McGee shareholder approval at a meeting set for August 10.
