Black Rock finds capital for UK North Sea well

Black Rock Oil & Gas Plc. has agreed with Gemini Oil & Gas Fund II L.P. for Gemini to fund Black Rock's share of drilling and testing the 49/8c-4 Monterery appraisal well in the southern gas basin of the UK North Sea.

LONDON -- Black Rock Oil & Gas Plc. has agreed with Gemini Oil & Gas Fund II L.P. for Gemini to fund Black Rock's share of drilling and testing the 49/8c-4 Monterery appraisal well in the southern gas basin of the UK North Sea.

With Wintershall as operator, the well is expected to spud early in September with a target of 4,020 m TD. Water depth is 35 m.

Black Rock has a 15% share in the well. The Monterey Gas field is estimated to hold 165 bcf of gas. Gemini will get payments from Black Rock's future Monterey revenue.
