HAMILTON, Bermuda -- Contracts from Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. Ltd./Chevron International Exploration and Production, and Pearl Oil Thailand/Nucoastal were signed by SeaDrill Ltd.
The Cabinda contract is for development drilling on Tombua-Landana field offshore Angola for three years starting 1Q09. Contract value is $162 million, including an $8.5 million mobilization fee. Seadrill will use eitherWest Berani or West Setia, depending upon release from existing contracts.
The jackupWest Janus (Seadrill 6) is scheduled to start drilling for Pearl in 2Q07 with a contract value of $40 million.
