HOUSTON -- The semisubmersible Atwood Richmond has spudded the Rooster A-3 well on Eugene Island block 28 in the Gulf of Mexico, according to Rooster Petroleum.
The well, with a planned TVD of 12,500 ft (3810 m), will test the up-dip attic potential of the Tex W sand currently producing from the Rooster A-2 ST1.
The company anticipates that the completed well will have an initial production rate of over 600 b/d of oil and 1.2 MMcf/d.
Drilling operations are expected to take 30 to 40 days.
