STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The semisub Transocean Winner has spudded appraisal well 16/1-13 on the Luno discovery in the North Sea.

The well will further appraise the Luno oil discovery, which was confirmed by appraisal well 16/1-1 in late 2008/early 2009. The well’s target is to further enhance the reservoir basis and description of the Jurassic reservoir facies distribution within the discovery, according to operator Lundin Petroleum.

The reserves auditor Gaffney, Cline and Associates (GCA) has assigned 95 MMboe of gross Proven and Probable (2P) reserves to the Luno field.
