OSLO – Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority has approved the semisubmersible Deepsea Bergen for production drilling on three fields in the Norwegian Sea.
StatoilHydro plans to use the rig for two wells on Heidrun during 2009-10, the program includs plugging and abandonment, drilling, completion, and interventions.
On Norne, the rig is to drill and complete four new producers on the M-frame. It also will be used for sidetrack drilling, well maintenance, and a new water injector planned for 2011.
Deepsea Bergen also will handle commissions on the Norne satellites fields and Aasgard. The main aim in these cases will be to sustain production levels and increase recovery rates, but there may also be a need for well testing and clean-up on Aasgard.
