LONDON – Desire Petroleum has signed a letter of intent with Diamond Offshore Drilling (UK) to use the semisub Ocean Guardian for a four-well drilling program in the North Falkland basin.

The Ocean Guardian is currently in the North Sea and will mobilize in November following a program of shipyard work. The vessel is expected to arrive in Falkland waters in early February 2010. Desire has options to drill a further four wells for itself and or its partners.
