HOUSTON -- ATP Oil & Gas has finished a three-well drilling campaign at Mirage in Mississippi Canyon block 941 and Morgus in Mississippi Canyon block 942, which comprises two of three blocks that make up the Telemark Hub. The MC 941 No. 3 well encountered approximately 266 net ft (81 m) of logged hydrocarbon pay. These additional pay sands will increase production and the proved and probable reserves at the Telemark Hub, the company says.

The ATP Titan, the floating drilling and production platform that will service the Telemark Hub, is scheduled for sail-out and mooring in October. After reserves at Mirage and Morgus are produced, the platform will move to AT 63 to recover the remaining Telemark reserves.

First production at the Telemark Hub is expected early next year.

In other Gulf of Mexico news, the Minerals Management Service has approved ATP’s request to co-mingle two zones at the Gomez development in Mississippi Canyon block 711. The company will carry out work to increase production later next month.

Also in the GoM, the rig Ocean Confidence is scheduled to sidetrack the MC 217 No. 3 well. The operation is expected to provide additional production beginning in the fourth quarter.
