OSLO -- Wildcat well 6306/6-2 in the North Sea is dry, according to operator Det norske oljeselskap ASA. The well encountered no reservoir rocks in the Upper Jurassic Viking group.
The semisubmersible Aker Barents drilled the well to a vertical depth of 2,039 m (6,690 ft) below the sea surface. The well was terminated in bedrock and will be permanently plugged and abandoned.
