Semisub Richmond contracted for single-well program

HOUSTON -- Helis Oil & Gas Co. has awarded Atwood Oceanics a contract for a one-well drilling program in the US Gulf of Mexico using the cantilever submersible Richmond. The well will be turnkey drilled by Applied Drilling Technology Inc.

The drilling operation, estimated to take 60 to 80 days, is scheduled for completion in February 2010. The day rate for the rig is $33,500.
