    Aker Barents to spud exploration well in Norwegian Sea

    The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted GDF SUEZ E&P Norge consent to drill exploration well 6407/12-2 in the Norwegian Sea using the semisub Aker Barents.

    OSLO -- The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted GDF SUEZ E&P Norge consent to drill exploration well 6407/12-2 in the Norwegian Sea using the semisub Aker Barents.

    Drilling is schedule to begin later next month, and last for 30 days.

    The PSA has also granted StatoilHydro consent to drill exploration well 25/2-17 on the Frigg field using the Ocean Vanguard.
