BP prolongs support rig hire in North Sea

LARNACA, Cyprus – BP has extended the contract of Prosafe’s accommodation support semisubmersible Safe Caledonia in the UK North Sea by seven months to end-2014.
The rig is assisting the Andrew area development project in the UK North Sea.
The revised contract period, which also takes in operations at BP’s Magnus platform, now has a total firm value of $116 million.
