HOUSTON – ATP East Med has found gas with its first well offshore Israel.

TheShimshon well in the Levant basin encountered more than 62 ft (19 m) of natural gas pay in the Bet Guvrin sands. The well was drilled in a water depth of 3,622 ft (1,104 m) to a subsea depth of 14,445 ft (4,403 m).

ATP operates with a 40% interest, in partnership with Isramco Negev 2, Naphtha Exploration, INOC Dead Sea, and I.O.C.-Israel.
