SAN RAMON, California –Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) has another successful exploration well offshore Western Australia in the Carnarvon basin.
The Satyr-4, drilled to TD of 15,023 ft (4,579 m), has confirmed 220 ft (67 m) of net gas pay in WA-374-P1 about 75 mi (120 km) northwest of Barrow Island in 3,570 ft (1,088 m) water depth.
Chevron Australia is the operator of WA-374-P with a 50% interest while Shell Development (Australia) Pty Ltd and Mobil Australia Resources Co. Pty Ltd each hold 25%.
