Dry hole for Det norske in North Sea

TRONDHEIM, Norway– Det norske oljeselskap’s exploration well on the Geite prospect in the North Sea is dry.

The jackupMaersk Guardian drilled well 7/11-13, 30 km (18.6 mi) west of the BP-operated Ula field. Triassic reservoir sandstones were encountered, but without hydrocarbons. The well be P&A’d.

Det norske operates PL 497 with a 35% interest. Partners include Dana Petroleum Norway AS (25%), Bridge Energy Norge AS (15%), Agora Oil & Gas AS (15%), and Lotos Exploration and Production Norge AS (10%).
