Go-ahead for Statoil well offshore Norway

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized Statoil to drill wildcat well 35/2-3 in the North Sea, using the semisubmersible Scarabeo 8.

OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized Statoil to drill wildcat well 35/2-3 in the North Sea, using the semisubmersible Scarabeo 8.

The well will be the fourth in production license 318, awarded under Norway’s APA 2003 licensing round. It will be drilled roughly 15 km (9.3 mi) southeast of the 35/2-1 discovery.
