TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap says that operator Statoil (OSE:STL, NYSE:STO) has discovered oil on the Geitungen prospect in Norwegian North Sea license PL 265.
A core sample has been recovered. Drilling operations are ongoing; however, so final results from the well are not yet available.
