Sidi Moussa well under way offshore Morocco

DUBLIN, Ireland – The semisubmersible Noble Paul Romano has spudded the SM-1 exploration well in the Sidi Moussa block offshore Morocco for operator Genel Energy.

According to partner San Leon Energy, the well, 60 km (37 mi) off the west coast in 990 m (3,248 ft) of water, is expected to take 60-90 days to drill.

San Leon is carried on thedrilling costs up to a cap of $50 million.
