The Lufeng 14-4 structure is within the Lufeng Sag in the Pearl River Mouth basin in a water depth of 145 m (476 ft).

The discovery well Lufeng 14-4-1, completed at a depth of 4,098 m (13,445 ft), intersected oil pay zones with a total thickness of 150 m (492 ft), with the well testing at a rate of 1,320 b/d.
