IOOC opens tender for five jackup rigs

The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) is asking for bids to hire five jackup drilling rigs for a three-year period in the Iranian Continental Shelf in the Persian Gulf.

TEHRAN, Iran -- The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) is asking for bids to hire five jackup drilling rigs for a three-year period in the Iranian Continental Shelf in the Persian Gulf.

The jackup rigs must have three independent legs to perform drilling, re-entry, and workover operations, plus securing and abandonment of damaged wells in IOOC fields. Required services may also include supporting fixed platforms and derricks, coil tubing operation, acidization, and other remedial work.

The closing date for bid submissions is Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
