Aker Kværner lands $50-million in drilling risers

Aker Kværner has contracted to deliver a complete deepwater drilling risers system with buoyancy package for $50 million to an unnamed buyer.

LYSAKER, Norway – Aker Kværner has contracted to deliver a complete deepwater drilling risers system with buoyancy package for $50 million to an unnamed buyer.

The package, designed at 7,500 ft (2,286 m) in length for a drillship, is to be manufactured at Aker Kværner's Malaysian facility for delivery in 2Q 2010. Phoenix Polymers will manufacture the buoyancy package.
