STAVANGER, Norway --Production drilling is scheduled to start at StatoilHydro's Tyrihans field in Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea with the arrival of the Transocean Arctic on site.
Tyrihans is to be developed using extensive multi-lateral "smart" wells with downhole regulation and control equipment.. Seabed pumps with inject seawater for enhanced recovery.
Plans are forTransocean Arctic to drill 11 wells -- eight production, two gas injection, and one seawater injection. A gas production well is planned for 2015.
Tyrihans is 25 km (15.5 mi) souteast of Asgard field. Production, with first oil set for 2009, will go 43 km (27 mi) to the Kristin platform for processing.
StatoilHydro, as operator, holds 58.8%, Total has 26.51%, Eni Norge has 7.9%, and ExxonMobil 6.75%.
