Signal wins contract to upgrade Ocean Ambassador

Diamond Offshore Drilling has awarded Signal International a $6.6 million contract for an ABS Special Survey and repairs to the semisubmersible drilling rig Ocean Ambassador.

PASCAGOULA, Mississippi -- Diamond Offshore Drilling has awarded Signal International a $6.6 million contract for an ABS Special Survey and repairs to the semisubmersible drilling rig Ocean Ambassador.

The scope of work includes an ABS Special Survey replacement of the vessel's ballast system, vents, and sounding tube piping. Additionally, the rig is slated for surface preparation/painting of the derrick, drill floor sub-structure, and all six columns.

Signal International will complete the work at its Pascagoula, Mississippi East Yard facility while also performing repairs and modifications to the semisubmersibleCeltic Sea for Transocean Offshore and the semisubmersible Frontier Driller for Frontier Drilling.
