HAWERA, New Zealand -- Kupe Joint Venture has P&A'd the Momoho 1 exploration well, offshore Taranaki basin, New Zealand.
A two-stage cement plug has been placed across the entire open-hole section from 3,145 m (10,318 ft) below rotary table back to 2,767 m (9,078 ft) RT. The plug was pressure tested to 1,550 psi (10.7 MPa) and tagged to verify the depth.
The 9-5/8 in, 13-3/8 in, 18-5/8 in, and 30 in casing strings have been cut sequentially, just below the seabed, and the surplus casing removed.
The rig is waiting on weather to set the final surface cement plug and conduct a seabed survey, prior to jacking down and moving off.
