ABERDEEN -- Venture Production has announced plans for the second half of 2008. Beyond the completion of the first phase of development of the Chiswick field, the company says it is actively working on development of an additional seven new projects that are expected to come onstream within the next two years.
Currently, the company is continuing hook-up and commissioning activities on the Chestnut field, which is expected to deliver first oil during 3Q 2008. A second Chestnut production well will be drilled by the semisubmersibleNoble Ton van Langeveld later in 2008.
The tie-back of the Grouse well to the Kittiwake platform has recently been sanctioned and will take place later this year with first production expected during the first half of 2009, the company says.
After completing the Barbarossa well, the Venture plans to move the jackupNoble Julie Robertson (NJR) to drill the Stamford development well as a Markham satellite. First gas production is anticipated in the winter 2008/9, the company says.
TheNJR is then expected to conduct a workover on the Ann A4 gas well to return it to production, before moving to drill the Kew appraisal well in the Greater Markham area.
Additionally, the company has contracted the jackupENSCO 92 to drill the Carna exploration well in the southern North Sea.
