Wildcat well 34/7-33 comes up dry

StatoilHydro Petroleum AS, operator of production license 089, has drilled a dry hole with the wildcat well 34/7-33.

STAVANGER, Norway -- StatoilHydro Petroleum AS, operator of production license 089, has drilled a dry hole with the wildcat well 34/7-33.

The purpose of the well was to prove hydrocarbons in sandstone in Middle Jurassic reservoir rocks.

TheOcean Vaguard drilled the well to a total depth of 2,592 m (8,504 ft) below the sea surface. The well was concluded in Middle Jurassic rocks. The well will be permanently plugged and abandoned.

The rig will now proceed to production license 128 to drill exploration well 6608/10-12, operated by StatoilHydro.
