LONDON -- The semisubmersible Sedco 704 has spudded a well on the Bowstring East prospect (also known as Cladhan) in UK North Sea block 210/29a, according to EnCore Oil.
"Bowstring East is an Upper Jurassic stratigraphic trap, which, if successful, could contain significant volumes of light oil," says Graham Doré, EnCore Oil's exploration director. "Drilling is expected to take 35 to 40 days depending on any operational and weather constraints that may be encountered."
