Dibbler-1 well dry
Offshore staff
PERTH, Australia -- The Dibbler-1 well in the Carnarvon basin exploration permit offshore Western Australia has been abandoned as a dry hole and the rig has now been released, according to Tap Oil.
The well spudded on Sept. 8 and reached a total depth of 3,504 m (11,496 ft) measured depth on Sept. 18 before final logging was carried out.
The well intersected the primary Dupuy formation objective. A significant reservoir section was penetrated, although log interpretation indicated no present hydrocarbons. All deeper secondary objectives were also dry, the company says.
