PARIS -- The Etisong-1 well offshore Nigeria in OML 102 has hit hydrocarbons, according to Total E&P Nigeria. The well was drilled in 70 m of water to a total depth of 2,207 m (7,241 ft) and produced over 6,000 b/d of oil with API of 40º from turbiditic reservoirs during testing.
This well is the first step of Total's 2009/2010 exploration and appraisal program designed to demonstrate the feasibility of a new development pole on OML 102, combining the Etisong discovery and surrounding structures, according to the company.
