Faroe Petroleum begins Marsvin prospect drilling

Faroe Petroleum has begun drilling on well 3/7-7 on Norwegian license PL289, which holds the Marsvin oil prospect.

ABERDEEN, UK -- Faroe Petroleum has begun drilling on well 3/7-7 on Norwegian license PL289, which holds the Marsvin oil prospect.

The license is located in water depths of around 65 m (213 ft).The Marsvin target is a substantial Upper Jurassic oil prospect, located on the south west flank of the Søgne Graben, straddling the border between Norway and Denmark.

The drilling operation, using the jackupMaersk Guardian, is expected to take around 80 days.
