HOUSTON -- The Surge prospect, a deepwater exploratory well on Garden Banks block 334 in the Gulf of Mexico is dry, according to Mariner Energy.
The well was successfully drilled to a total depth of approximately 15,000 ft (4,572 m) but failed to encounter hydrocarbons in commercial quantities and was plugged, the company says.
