STAVANGER, Norway --StatoilHydro has consent from Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority for two drilling campaigns in the Norwegian Sea.

The semisubmersibleTransocean Arctic is scheduled to drill and complete 11 injector and producer wells on the Tyrihans South and North fields over an estimated 1,232 days.

StatoilHydro plans to extract the fields' oil and gas via a combination of gas and water injection and gas lift. Produced oil, gas and water will be processed on the Kristin field semisubmersible platform.

The other program involves the use of the semisubOcean Vanguard for an exploration well on the Alve field in production license 159B, around 11 km (7 mi) southwest of the Norne field. Well 6507/3-5 S should take around 74 days to drill, including stabilization of an existing seabed template on Alve.
