    Roc Oil drilling offshore China continues

    Roc Oil (China) Co.'s Murmanskaya jackup drilling rig offshore China is drilling a 12 1/4-in (31-cm) hole at 1,684 m (5,525 ft) below the rotary bushing.

    SYDNEY, Australia -- Roc Oil (China) Co.'s Murmanskaya jackup drilling rig offshore China is drilling a 12 1/4-in (31-cm) hole at 1,684 m (5,525 ft) below the rotary bushing.

    The plan is to drill ahead to 1,860 m (6,102 ft) below the rotary bushing to set 9 5/8 in (24.4 cm) casing.

    The Wei-6-12W-1 well is 2.5 km (1.6 mi) northwest of the Wei 6-12S-1 oil discovery.

    Companies participating in the bock 22/12 joint venture include Roc Oil, Horizon Oil Ltd., Petsec Petroleum, and Oil Australia Pty Ltd.
