ABERDEEN, UK -- Reach Exploration (UK) has completed operations on the Petro-Canada-operated well 13/21b-7, Prospect Surprise.
Located in 89 m (292 ft) of water in the Inner Moray Firth area, the well was drilled to a depth of 2,398 m (2,867 ft) below sea level using theArctic III rig and completed on Dec. 28, 2007.
Evaluation of the test data indicates that the reservoir has the potential to yield commercial flow rates through horizontal wells and completion technology.
The well is operated by Petro-Canada (50%) on behalf of partners Samson North Sea (35%), First Oil Expro (10%) and Reach Exploration (UK) (5%).
